    Terry Landers Joined Microsoft in 2003, serving as Director Legal and Corporate Affairs for Northern and Central Europe. Currently Chief Standards Officer for Europe Middle East and Africa, working across a wide range of future and emerging technologies in the Information and Communications area, including Cloud Computing, Internet of Things, Smart Grids and Health Informatics.

    He is a member of the National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI) and Chairman of NSAI’s ICT Standards Consultative Committee. Also serves on the boards of several Microsoft companies, and the Disability Charity, Enable Ireland.

    During the early part of his career he worked in Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) as Senior Software engineer. In the mid-1990’s, he worked with Ireland’s advisory body on science and technology policy where he was secretary to Ireland’s Information Society and Technology Foresight initiatives, and worked extensively on EU Technology agenda, including EU Framework programs.

    Prior to joining Microsoft, he served as Chief Technical Officer of Ericsson Ireland.

    B.Sc. University College Dublin and an MBA from National University of Ireland, Galway. Post-graduate qualifications in Telecommunications Engineering from the Open University, and in Quality Management from the University of Limerick.
